Wimbledon Diary of non-commercial musical and other cultural events
This website is financially and editorially independent of any other organisation. It has been set up and will be maintained by a Wimbledon resident who believes there is a need for more co-ordinated information about the many activities relating to music, drama, visual arts, literature, sciences, local history, and natural history in the locality. However, the Diary is indebted for its inspiration to the excellent 'Wimbledon Diary' published quarterly within the Wimbledon Society Newsletter. See Current events and Future events pages for the calendar of events.
Residents of Wimbledon are fortunate in having easy access to a vibrant and varied cultural life. It is hoped that this Diary may help those who organise events to avoid clashes with competing activities, wherever possible, and also improve awareness among residents and visitors about the many excellent events and organisations available to them. Details of societies related to events in the Diary are listed under Organisations as well as those of other organisations which either contribute to the cultural life of Wimbledon or which provide useful support or information.
The Diary is far from comprehensive and a number of events and organisations have had to be excluded at the last minute because permission to publish them has not yet been received. A Website is only as good as its content and it is hoped, in time, to add to the number and range of events listed in the Diary; so please email wimbledonmusic@btinternet.com details of any relevant event or organisation you would like included - free of charge - or click onto Contact Form. Even if full information is not yet available it may be useful to enter the event, date and venue into the Diary as soon as these are confirmed. Corrections of any ommissions or errors you may notice will be gratefully received.
If you find this website useful please do tell others about it.
